Associated Student Body (ASB)

What does ASB do?

Approve finances: approve purchase orders & field trip requests from clubs, activities & athletics; manage & allocate funds of all student organizations at the school.
Charter & regulate clubs (Learn more about clubs here): write club Constitutions; learn state & administration’s requirements for clubs to be formalized; allow students to start new clubs; enforce club policies throughout the school year; approve spending & allocate funding to clubs
Plan assemblies: brainstorm & implement student engagement ideas; write assembly scripts; MC at all assemblies; reach out to students, administration, special guests, and clubs to speak & perform
Plan Homecoming: facilitate class competitions, decide on yearly theme, organize the Homecoming Dance
Promote school spirit: greet students at the front door; hand out & sell spirit gear; organize spirit weeks; feature spirited students on social media; run class office elections to lead their class’ spirit initiatives
Foster an inclusive community: run an ASB Instagram page (@asbinterlake); discuss accessibility, diversity & inclusion with administration

Students:

Purchase an ASB card (Touchbase or Mrs. Tate)
Participate on spirit days
Attend ASB-sponsored events/fundraisers
Run for class office or ASB in the spring

Parents:

Visit (link to donation page) to make a donation! Under “School,” select “Interlake High School,” and under “I want to donate to,” select “Donation – ASB All Programs.” Then enter the desired donation amount and proceed to payment.

All Interlake clubs are founded and run by students year-round.
Each club requires a minimum of 10 members, a teacher advisor, and a clear purpose that enriches student life at Interlake.
Clubs require the following paperwork every year: club charter, constitution, budget, & roster.
Clubs support our students’ diversity! They can range from community service (National Honors Society) to competition (DECA) to school spirit (Fleurs).
